I have a swollen lip. it’s all blue and everything. Don’t ask me how I got it…too long a story.
Anyways…I’ve been trying to remove the swelling. Some people say to use ice, others say to use a towel dipped in hot water, and some told me to leave it alone…the swelling will go down naturally.
What’s the straight dope? Are there any other ways to bring down the swelling. Any unusual ways?

Use the ice:

> Doodie Pie, Schwenksville

as soon as possible after the injury. It will reduce the swelling.

How long ago did this happen?

Okay, it’s still not too late for the ice.

If the swelling is still there tomorrow, consider either:

1. letting natural healing run its course, or
2. seeing a doctor for an opinion.

I have a post-ice question.

I got punched out a couple of weeks ago (you can find the thread if you are interested), and the stitches are well and truly gone. The scar isn’t that bad, just enough to make me look pathetic in front of birds, but there are still a couple of lumps there. Should I be worried?

**Tony** , no harm in being worried.

Just go spend 15 minutes talking to the doc.
