I don’t want to speak too soon - I don’t know if anyone has chosen a healing advanced class yet. Which Republic class heals aside from consular? ---

All but knight have a heal spec. I have a tanky knight (guardian), a healy consular (sage), and a healy smuggler (scoundrel) so far. I’ll probably roll a healy trooper (commando) at some point, too. Healers do such awesome damage it’s hard for me to justify going straight dps, heh. ---

Well it did just occur to me last night that it is actually to late to go full Shadow. I can’t go back on my specialty but I can refocus from Seer to the other thing. I saw a guide where there was a Consular specialty the classified as “tank” buy I’m not sure if that was Seer or what . Not opposed to rolling another toon (is that how the kids say it?) either. Just let me know. I’m not a hardcore plyer so it’ll take me a while to level one up. ---

I did notice when I picked Sorcerer for my Inquisitor that the other option (Assassin) had a tanking spec. I can’t quite wrap my mind around a cloth-wearing tank but apparently it’s an option. ---

There are a couple adv classes designated as “ranged tanks”. Sounds interesting. My Commando is level 15 now, and I’m just hitting quest after quest. My Consular-Shadow is still 11. Both are dps. ---

For my smuggler I went with Gunslinger. I might regret not having the heals but I wanted to stick with the ranged dps. ---

I’m getting confused now. There’s a you’re putting together both Republic and Empire guilds? On the same server? Which one has the most in so far? ---

So far there’s a Doper guild on the Republic side on the Master Zhar Lestin server. Many of us have Imperial toons on that server also, but no one has organized an Imperial-side guild yet. ETA: The guild is Burning Womp Rats ---

Just joined the guild on my level 16 (almost 17) Sage named Celarath. I’m eastern, though, so I might play at slightly different times than most of you. I usually will be able to play from about 6-9 EST, give or take. My primary role will be a healer. I’ve always loved being a supportive role. I do enjoy that you can still do some reasonable damage even if you don’t have the right talent points in damage. I’m sure they’re called something else, but I’ll call them talent points because it’s an exact replica of WoW’s system. ---

I’ve been joining the custom chat channel “SDMB” on my characters. I think channels are cross-faction, so it’s an easy way for us to communicate when we’re on opposite sides. It also gives a way for asking for guild invites without knowing who’s online at the moment. ---

You can just type “Burning” into Social window’s Who-panel and it’ll search all the Burning Womp Rats for you. ---

Awesome if custom channels are cross-faction. I’ll start using SDMB. No one has come up with an Imperial guild name (someone should just go for it). Now that the pre-launch guild phase is over, what’s required to start one? ---

I bought and installed the game today. Created a Jedi Knight character named (what else) Kalathan. So if you see me online, please shoot me a guild invite! I say that of course, knowing full well that we’re leaving tomorrow to visit family for Xmas, so I won’t be playing _anything_ for the next week or so… 🙂 ---
