So shall we rewrite the Lyrics to Andrew Gold’s [Thank You For Being A Friend](http://www.elyrics.net/read/a/andrew-gold-lyrics/thank-you-for-being-a-friend-lyrics.html)? I think we could come up with a SDMB-style. As an example, the opening lyrics could be changed as simply as from this: _Thank you for being a friend Traveled down the road and back again your heart is true you’re a pal and a confidant_ to this … Thank you for being a friend Traveled 'round the Boards and back again your heart is true you’re a pal and a confidant Or may something more appropriate in a Bulwer-Lytton-esque fashion? ---

I think the purpose of the friends feature is so that when someone wants to insult you in the Pit, they can check your profile to see if it says “so-and-so hasn’t made any friends yet.” ---
