An original [Dogs](http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=487&e=1&u=/ap/dogs_playing_poker) playing poker sold at auction for $590,000. They estimated it might go for $50,000.

Now that’s some art appreciation. 😃

What I want to know is who is going to hang that picture above the fireplace and tell visitors with a straight face that they paid half a million dollars for it.

Hey, the original is pop history, man! It would be worth $50,000 for that alone. And a man who pays half a mill for Dogs Playing Poker obviously isn’t afraid to buy anything.

What’s really frightening is that there had to be at least _two_ people who thought half a million wasn’t unreasonable, or else it would not have been bid up that high.
