I found it quite enlightening. YMMV. I realize now that my core beliefs and values come from the left, even though I can’t abide the rhetoric of the left. I always considered myself on the right side of the center (but in the center nonetheless). But I took the test 3 times over the last few months to check for consistency, and I scored 1. just inside left-liberal. 2. on the border of left-liberal & the center 3. smack dab in the middle of left-liberal.

I was all the way left liberal. The thing to realize is that this is on a Libertarian site, and the quiz is biased in such a way that most people will be semi-Libertarian, or fully Libertarian.

I agree absolutely that we must be cautious about the source and possible biases. But so far it has proved suprisingly accurate with all the people I’ve told about it. All have agreed with the results.

I knew I was a Libertarian before I took the quiz two years ago.
Yep, I am even a card-carrying member of the Libertarian Party and voted Libertarian across the board in the last election.
That quiz had no influence on my decision but it’s fun.

Libertarian here. No big surprise. I think MOST Americans are libertarians to some extent, but they are afraid to let go of their ‘Republican/Democratic’ labels.
[slight hijack]I still liked the ‘presidential preference selector’ from the last election. During the primaries, they had Bradley as the winner (based on taking the people who had taken the quiz as the population sample), with the Socialist candidate (whose name escapes me) coming in second, Gore coming in about 2/3rds of the way down, and Bush almost in last place. It’s amazing how many people I knew who took this test didn’t know where they actually stood, when they compared their beliefs with what the candidates had said they stood for. (the test asked about 30 questions, on all the hot-topic political issues, then compared your answers with candidates’ stated positions. If a candidate DIDN’T have a stance, then they based that candidates views on their party’s platform.)[/slight hijack]
