Because mine is gnarly with hooks, spikes, and shit coming off of it.
Mine doesn’t look very much like that one anymore.
If mine looked like that one, I’d leave it where it is.

clear view of one hook
If you can get a number of pictures from multiple angles, then you could construct a 3d model, from which you could make a 3d print.
EDIT: I mention this because it’s probably easier to talk Jen into taking a bunch of pictures than to deal with the mess and fuss of a casting.
Man. I’ve got a bone spur on me that has become the satanic incarnation of mobile agonies.
It even has a name. A background. This Bone Spur is so immense that it carries it’s own cell phone.

My deepest sympathies
When I had my right hip replacement, almost two years ago, they refused to give me the removed femur head. I was going to clean it and mount it.

I am also having my right hip done.
This does raise a valid scientific question. If it was my left hip that was being done, would they gladly hand it to me at the end of the procedure in a large Ziploc bag?

No, but if it is your wrong hip being done, you might hand them their ass in a large law suit.
Oh. No kidding!
My surgeon said he will visit me before hand, verbally confirm and sign that side with a Sharpie.
I replied with, " You mean I cannot put a huge red X on the left leg and a huge green check-mark on the right? "
He laughed.

Wait, does the green check mean “keep” and the red X mean “this is bad”, or does the green check mean “do this one” and the red X mean “don’t do this one”?

Shit. Great question !!
Perhaps I’ll write NYET and DA just to make sure.
Glad I’m not the only one who had this thought.
It’s a fucking badge. I fucking earned it.
I’m unfamiliar with the necessities of 3D imaging via photographs.
What’d the requirements be?
I’m kind of leaning toward the silicone molds as they look like they’d peel off of the hooks and odd nubbins more easily.
