# Taking food internationally

As many of you know, I am going to El Salvador next week.

Will customs give me any problem for taking food with me? It is all wrapped, like power bars and individual trail mix packs.

Can’t answer your question. But will point out that they are fussy about what you being back to the USA on international flights.

I had some commercially produced sausage sticks in my luggage when returning from Europe and they were confiscated.

They said all those items are incinerated, but I’ve always felt that the inspection agents had them for a snack. :dubious:
