The tab at the Wild Goose was $1106, and as I discussed with Euty and Persephone Saturday afternoon, I wouldn’t have been surprised to see a bill of $3K from O-Toole’s. I was figuring there’d be 60 people, and at $50 a pop (which, for a dopefest dinner that includes a bar, is not that unreasonable) that’s $3K. But some people had separate tabs; I talked to one person who had a $70 bill just for booze. I don’t imagine she was alone. [sub]Some day I will buy the legs required to pull off a kilt.[/sub] ---

My thoughts on ChiDope (I’m sorry. This is long): It was nice meeting people whom I’d always admired as posters. Chicago is just a great city. If you sit at the bar at Harry Carray’s and you smoke and you’re female, you will not ever light your own cigarettes. There’s other stuff here. Just go to Chicago if you haven’t. I wish I’d had time to do more. Shout-outs (sans the coding. So sue me): Nymysys wins the award for being the Doper Most Comfy In Her Own Skin. She’s got class. Nen has a calming effect, much like a lullaby or a river. Joey Hemlock is one of the funniest people I’ve ever met, and the father of one-day people Zoe and Auto (I received a now-retired Brumsky; my cleavage is being bronzed as we speak). tiggeril is so pretty. CrankyAsAnOldMan is exactly what I’d hoped she would be, which is a wonderful thing. I didn’t mean to flatter Wisest Novel, because the compliment was genuine, but I’m glad he liked it either way. He’s nice and smart and he actually wants to have us all over at his place (is that a contradiction?). He gives – oh – very, very good massages. Geobabe and UncleBill are perfect for each other on so many levels. They both wear skirts, for instance. I love them both with an unbridled passion and I’m going to move to Florida and be their House Gimp. Superdude and Tattva are cool because they picked me up from the airport, and for other reasons that only we know. ShibbOleth is my Person Who Is There To Make Sure Things Go Right. He’s more than that, but I don’t have much space here. Dawg, I can’t list all of you. Plus, there’s a lot of folks I didn’t get a chance to talk to. lno is….yeah. Crunchy Frog didn’t remember me, even though he welcomed me. For shame. He made up for it here, though, dontcha think? You’re the best, baby. I had no idea that vix was going to be so cool and pretty and she and I spoke candidly on many pressing issues. I am glad we solved all the problems of the world, vix. If I’m ever stranded in line at the airport, I want vix to be standing right behind me. Is that weird? All at once, now: “YOU’RE NOT MISS CREANT!” Really? Ya mean, I’m sleeping with Mr. Cynical for nothing? You think he would have said something by now, love-ah. I did talk to Mr. Jar a little, and he seemed very cool. Persephone and Hamadryad really could be sisters. No joke. They’re both nice and pretty and I want Hama’s hair. Mike G got very drunk on Friday and said things to a married woman he oughn’t, but I soooo liked it (with an accent, no less). The same goes for Dyno (no accent). I bet y’all $5 that neither of them even remembers this at all. Euty kissed me more than I think he remembers. Or is it the other way around? You perv. UncleBeer looked great, and so did porcupine. Note: If you haven’t met porcupine, do yourself a favor and speak up, because she’s got to be the nicest, most approachable Doper of us all. And I never even got to meet Jane! I wanted to thank you, Jane, for hooking me up with such a sweet room. I met Ed Zotti. Neener. Hah. Other than that, well, for every one of you stinkers who said I look like a certain actress, the check is in the mail (chique, you’re no good). What eloquent liars you are. I feel in awe that there can be so many clever delightful people in one place at one time. I feel thankful for the SDMB which brought us together. My only regret is that I didn’t have the time to speak to as many of you as I would have liked. For those of you that I did get to talk to and get to know better, wow! What a treat. A big thanks to all of you Chicago dopers who had a hand in the planning, the hosting, the escorting, etc. Wouldn’t have possible without you! ---

I could not sleep at all saturday night, and so I think i was the last one to arrive at brunch. Teabagging comments were once again, flying thick and fast. JoeyHemlock danced a bit. I had to work today, dammit, so now I’m finally here to tell you all my thoughts about this weekend: YOU ALL ROCK!! I have a few thank you’s to dispense. Jane D’oh: For setting us up with the hotel rooms. I really, truly, deeply appreciate all the work you did to accommodate all of us. Mr. Cynical: For picking me up from the train station and putting up with my inane chatter without falling asleep or bitch slapping me. Typo mna: For putting up with me all weekend as your roomie and just for being cooler than all get-out. I mean, the man breathes fire. How cool is that? Crorex: For buying me dinner on Saturday night. Okay, it was only onion rings, but I probably could have bought a lobster dinner and he would have gladly paid for that too. Sophie and Tattva: For simultaneously grabbing both of my breasts at the same time. I still feeling all tingly. Superdude: For paying for the taxi ride back to the hotel on Friday night, even though you only had a few dollars to your name. :smooch: thinksnow and UncleBill: Kilts. That’s all that needs to be said. Jarbaby and her hubby: For allowing so many of us to visit with them for brunch on Sunday. But she wouldn’t let us use the red towels ☹ Oh, I must add something.
