I love that one! Springsteen and Costello acting like they belong onstage with him! KD Lang, Bonnie Raitt, and Jennifer Warnes are his backups singers!
Then the bastards at PBS have to ask for money. Can they NEVER show it except at pledge time?

What an amazing singing voice he had. If you notice, he barely opens his mouth when he sings. I can usually keep up with him, but can’t transition as smoothly as he can.

I’ve also noticed the nearly closed mouth. That goes against what I was taught in choir in catholic school. 😉
I watched most of _The Wall_ too. Great stuff.
I forgive PBS their begging. PBS saves television from itself, at least for me.

I spent last night flipping between the 2 PBS stations in the Seattle area. One was showing the George Harrison tribute concert and the other had a show about the rock and roll groups from the Ed Sullivan Show. I’ve put out a couple hundred dollars in recent years for the Rolling Stones (2 DVD set, watched once) and The Who (1 DVD and 2 CD’s, haven’t opened yet). I flipped channels during the sales pitches so I don’t know how much it could have cost me last night.
