I’m reanimating the zombie because the OP was worried in March 2023 that AI would render him obsolete in a year’s time. So, as a former fellow marketing communications specialist, I just want to ask @Akaj , @Dead_Cat and anyone else who was anxious a year agoi how it’s going now. ---

But was it any good? In business school I remember there being no correlation whatsoever with the amount of effort, blood, sweat, and tears that went into a project versus the actual quality of the end product. Some people just _got it_ and others didn’t, and those that did, produced better quality stuff in considerably less time than the ones who ground it out through a lot of effort. I tend to think that what we’re going to see is not necessarily wholesale destruction of industries, but something along the lines of what wide scale adoption of personal computers and printers did for print shops. People who are cheap more than anything else will have ChatGPT scheme up their marketing stuff, just like they printed garbage in Comic Sans with janky clip art instead of hiring graphic designers and print shops. But the people who want high quality output will still want companies like yours. There’ll more than likely be a divide between companies with high-end marketing and the ones with AI slop. That said, I think that using AI may be the key to producing that high quality work- you can use it to do many of the steps, but with human oversight and decision making keeping the finished product from being AI slop and making it higher quality than straight AI stuff. ---
