What everyone has said in this thread is true, I’ll just add that I found the recipe in the Weber Grilling Bible…I was amazed when I saw it. Very interesting…
Oh yeah when I mentioned what we were having for dinner to my wife…and the word ‘Beer can’ was involved in the cuisine…she cringed as well

In Tako’s show they use a syringe-like device to marinade the chicken with. Wonder if I could just use a normal syringe instead to get the marinade between the skin and the flesh? 
Beer-can chicken has become so popular that Weber has introduced the Weber Poultry Roaster, which supports the bird, holds the beer and collects the juices. About $30. Haven’t tried one yet, but it looks very cool.
