Mandy Moore, who first became a celebrity as a teenager, is 5’10". I thought Adele was tiny. She’s 5’9". Allison Janney is 6’. ---

I’m a big fan of the artist Lizzo, and being a fellow fat girl her size has always made me feel more of a kinship with her. While other “large women” famous people are short (to me) - Melissa McCarthy: 5’2", Dawn French: 5’0", Aidy Bryant: 5’3", Rebel Wilson: 5’4" - Lizzo is a glorious 5’10. Two inches taller than me! Bless her 🙂 ---

I saw a picture of rapper Jack Harlow looking very tall, so I thought I would look up his height. On the first page of Google results, I found these, in order: 6’3" 5’9" 6’1" 5’5" (headline), 6’1" (body) 6’1" 5’7" 6’2" 6’ 6’3" 6’1" 5’10" 6’2.7" At that point I stopped for there madness lies. ---

Not a celebrity, but I knew a kid who was 6’11" when he was just out of high school. It wasn’t unusual for strangers to ask to have their photo taken with him. mmm ---

I don’t know anything about an F-14’s cockpit, but 6’5" is the Navy’s height limit for pilots, so he’d technically qualify. It’s my understanding that body width and girth is more crucial to “fit” than height. ---

Not sure I could have closed the canopy with a helmet on. In an ejection I would likely have lost my knees. Now a Phantom, on the other hand, I think that was bigger than my Miata. That’s rare - the military doesn’t really like tall people. At least that meant I’d never have to be the B17 belly turret gunner. eta: in ye olde days it was worse - there is an F86 cockpit at the Oshkosh museum. I fit that like I was trying to fit in a kiddie car. My knees were so scrunched yup I couldn’t even see the gauges! And no way the canopy could close. ---

World renowned actors Wilt Chamberlain (7’ 1") and André the Giant (7’ 4") were both tall. One of the two also had a side career playing basketball while the other relied on acting his entire career. In photos of the two together, which often include puny Ahnold, André appears roughly the same height as Wilt. ---
