Thanks to all who have expressed good thoughts towards my son, who is still deeply tanned but is shoveling two feet of snow off the driveway. Just FTR, the first statement is a flat-out lie. The second part I disbelieved at first, but **you with the face** made it quite clear that she \*was \* disappointed that white-on-black rape is very much rarer than other combinations, not because of her bizarre misrepresentations but because it blows holes in her notion of the ravening white exploiter of black females. She apparently thought [_Mandingo_](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073349/) was a documentary. What actually went down in the thread was that people said, in essence, 'Gee, white-on-black rape is awfully unusual - maybe something else is going on besides what Nifong and the hooker are trying to sell". (This was about the Duke lacrosse “rape” case.) Sure enough, it turned out that the hooker in question was exactly what the title of the thread said she was, and so was Nifong. I have absolutely no opinion about the actual subject of this thread, but I wanted to address this by saying that it’s certainly possible to have negative feelings and opinions about one ethnic group and not others (for example, to be racist toward African-Americans, but not Asian-Americans). I’ve seen such dichotomies. ---

In the context in which the sentiment arose, most definitely it’s racist. Just why would anyone be _disappointed_ at the notion that their demographic group isn’t frequently raped by white men?
