I don’t know who puts up the archive materials but please fix the coding! Reading five paragraphs full of linked text is enough to give anyone a humming in their heads.

Am I the only one who can’t see the weekly illustration? I’m using IE 5.0, and when I view the source, the appropriate part says  
**IMG SRC="art/981218.gif"**  
I’m not exactly a HTML expert, but it seems to me it ought to say  
**IMG SRC="…/art/981218.gif"**  
or the full URL of the image should be inside the quotation marks, [http://www.straightdope.com/art/1998/981218.gif](http://www.straightdope.com/art/1998/981218.gif)

Funny thing is that it works perfectly when I use my ancient Netscape Navigator 3.01. The source then says  
**img SRC="[http://www.straightdope.com/art/1998/981218.gif](http://www.straightdope.com/art/1998/981218.gif)"**
