# Tapatalk Location Appendage

I’ve sent a PM to **Idle Thoughts** to help me with this, but in the interim, I feel like I should be doing more. So, here goes…

Every time I post, a URL map of my location appends to the bottom, like a signature. At first, I thought I’d accidentally hit that option when I went advanced, but I’ve consciously paid attention to what I’m doing now and I certainly hadn’t the last time it happened.

Anyone know what the problem is or what I’m doing wrong? Any and all help would be appreciated. I’m clueless as to what’s going on. ARGH!!

Never mind. I got it now. For us kiddies playing along at home, always make sure your Geotag switch is not flipped. It can bedevil you bad!

Mods, can we please close this? Sorry for wasting your time. 🙂

Thanks for bringing this to the notice of the board. I hadn’t noticed this earlier because I disable location services in most apps by default.

If you are using Tapatalk, and don’t want your location posted, please disable it by:

Turning location services OFF on your phone entirely, or  
When typing a new post, select Open Advanced Options and turn Geotag OFF, or  
When you launch the Tapatalk app, and before you select your SDMB username, go to Settings and set Geotagging to OFF. If you are already in the SDMB forum, go back to the Main Menu and then go to the Settings tab.

The above instructions are for iPhone. Android options might be different.

If you inadvertentlly posted your location, please report your post and a mod will delete your location information immediately.

As with any 3rd party app, please be informed of their privacy policies and features. The SDMB has no control over your Tapatalk settings.
