# Tax question regarding dependants...

Today I was applying for a job and the HR guy said that I should do this, but I’ve done this on my tax return for the past 2 years and neither H&R Block or the IRS has said anything…

So, can I claim my girlfriend as a dependant? She does not have a job and lives with me the entire year…

Can I do it? Is it recommended?
