Kessenhammer ist just around the corner from me. I last camped there a few years ago with some friends and their children. It’s a nice camping ground directly at the lake. I learned swimming there when I was seven. Yeah, and we have many Dutch tourists here.
Of course. For me it’s been like 40 years back, but I remember. Maybe I’ll come back
You’re welcome! It’s still nice here.
Good to know
Staying in Holland this year because of the Covid. Aber vielleicht nächstes Jahr!
If they dig a big hole and pile up the dirt into a mountain, they can start the climb at the bottom of the hole and the mountain need only be half as high
Idk what their strategy is, but keep in mind we’re already below sea level
I slept in this morning and am just tuning in. Is this deja vu? Reprise of stage past?
Also the same nasty weather.
Nairo Quintana. There’s another blast from the past.
I guess Roglic decided to sleep in as well. It’s for the best.
Yes, Roglic is out. No surprise there. Van Der Poel also, but for different reasons: he wants to take care of himself for the Olympics.
Po-ga-char. It’s Pogacar, Phil Liggett, you muppet.
I mean, he spent two decades saying ‘Voit’ for ‘Vogt’.
Which reminds me how much I miss Jens Voigt reporting from inside the race. Steve Porino can shove that IR temperature guage up his ass and fuck off.
So O’Connor in yellow today?
Bob Roll has turned into the tour riders’ mother. Zip up your jackets, kids! I love him.
@QuickSilver given the paucity of cycling nerds on here, if you want a place to chat while following the race, try Podium Cafe. Live thread for every major race, good knowledgable crowd over there, adult level of conversation. I’m “straw dog” over there.
Voigt is co-commentator for Eurosport Germany which I follow. He’s always a joy to listen to. Competent, intelligent and funny.
“Guys, I’m tired of pulling.”
“Brandon, Tadej’s in yellow. You have to pull.”
“You guys are underestimating my commitment to taking a quick break.”
Quintana went for mountain points and has now tapped out. Hasn’t he always been a punchy climber?
