Yes. There is never a truly level playing field in business. Some businesses have advantages over other businesses. Airbus is in no danger of destroying Boeing, and Boeing does not need subsidies. ---

Cochran, unlike Cantor, could credibly mount an independent campaign if he loses the primary, I believe. I don’t think he’s appealing to black voters because he thinks it will help him in the primary. They aren’t going to turn out for him there. I think he’s testing his message for a general election campaign. If he could get even 30% of black voters to support him based on “delivering for Mississippi”, then he could win a general election. ---
