That’s not what Reid referred to in that statement. The President has already done the DREAM act adminstratively. Reid wants more.
The article does not refer to all illegal immigrants, or all deportations. Looking at the links-within-the-link, it’s clear they’re talking about trying to halt deportations of young immigrants who have not committed crimes, not halt all deportations.
And even if it were all deportations, that is not support for open borders.
So you are still very wrong.
Take the argument about voting to another thread, everybody.
They will always favor corporate bailouts.
Renee Ellmers won big and she supports immigration reform.
Now Sue Lowden is clucking at her opponent for wearing a Boy Scout uniform in a photo advertisement. [url=Lowden cries foul over Hutchison Boy Scout photo | News]Cite.
The fucked up thing is, she deliberately accuses him of doing something illegal:[url=]
Now, one could hope that GOP voters would see through such a transparent attempt to smear him as a lawbreaker and possibly a criminal, and show disdain for anyone who would allow naked ambition to trump all other values at the polls by voting against her… but this is Nevada, and frankly it’s a tossup whether or not people will think it’s awesome that she shows such a strong offensive streak (yeah, I mean it both ways) or whether they realize she’s a crackpot who shouldn’t be left alone with a crockpot, let alone the state government.
Anyway, GOP vs. TP happens here 10 June; can’t wait to see what happens between now and then!
She’s right, at least as it pertains to the Scoutmaster’s Handbook:
Where she is wrong is in calling it a “law”, thus implying that her opponent is a criminal. It isn’t a law. It’s a rule.
Eh, I think it’s clear from context that she doesn’t mean the sort of law that’s enforced by police. Organizations have bylaws.
The Mississippi GOP Senate primary is now headed for a runoff (June 24) between Chris McDaniel (Tea Party) and Thad Cochran (Not So Different).
That’s a good result for the Dems. They get to sit back and watch the mudslinging continue, draining resources their opponents won’t have for the general election.
I’d like to agree with you, but I don’t think Mississippi is in play. Unless the Republican nominee is caught with a dead girl, live boy, or a goat I don’t see this seat turning blue.
I disagree. It is a longshot, but it could happen. If McDaniel is the GOP nominee, the Dems have a decent chance for the upset. If Cochran is the GOP nominee, it’s going to be a lot tougher…
(And I would not necessarily rule out a goat showing up at some point. This has been a nasty primary.)
Bad week for SD Senate candidate Annette Bosworth. Finished fourth of five candidates in the primary and then gets arrested on election fraud felonies. Another proud moment for the Teabag Set.
But live or dead, and in whose bed?
As Mississippi is showing, the Tea Party is far from dead. Be good to get rid of one of the biggest porkers in the Senate. I’d sooner see a conservative Democrat in the seat than that porker Cochran.
Why? You know porkbarrelling accounts for a negligible fraction of the budget.
I dunno. Maybe it is just me, but I’m getting a strong “Alamo” vibe from this election. If McDaniel loses, I think the Tea Party is done.
Is Mississippi, of all damn places, *really *in play in November if this nihilist gets nominated? There could well be a national tsunami coming up, if that’s the case.
