I didn’t think you guys were supposed to admit this until after the mid-terms.
It’s all cool. Before then, we’re going to re-write the Constitution to send all people earning more than $250,000 a year before the Death Panels. You’ll be dreaming of the time when we were just a roving band of dog raping misfits.
I seriously did a double take thinking this comment was directed towards me. That pretty much describes my life right now :).
oh and sidenote: the multi-quote function actually puts them in the order in which you click them. Pretty cool.
No shit, you doesn’t-even-know-a-fucking-enchilada-from-a-hole-in-the-ground retard.
Here’s something else for you to chew on: not having government-sponsored health care is *killing *American companies that operate globally. If you want American companies to remain competitive with foreign ones, you should absolutely support shifting the cost of our citizens health care from their employers to the government.
To be fair, Rand’s kind of like Curtis LeMay: they’re both very clever for 13 year olds.
Mid-terms? What makes you think we are still having mid-terms?
They’re just so *precious *at that age, aren’t they?
I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware that I had become responsible for your happiness. When did that happen?
You must be quite young as it wasn’t all that long ago when things like buying on credit was only done for houses, or in emergencies. Most people didn’t go about buying things they couldn’t afford, or starting families before they had finished their educations and gotten good jobs. Shoot, we haven’t even had universal credit all that long (and no, I’m not going to waste my time looking it up).
Slavery? Forced abortion? I’ll agree with shotgun marriages, which is sort of a celebration in itself, but not the others. And unfortunately there are big sections of society that hold baby showers for pregnant teens, and who congratulate the pregnant teen on her soon to be “miracle”, not to mention all the government support they get.
Wow. Just wow. Your definition of personal responsibility is to go forth and manipulate, extort and exploit? Where did you grow up that you think this, or that being personally responsible must mean that one feels no other responsibilities?
Snort. OK, we’ll assume he actually seduced her and somehow “left her pregnant” against her will, if she knows who he is he is also legally responsible for that baby. Whether or not he wanted it and took steps to prevent it.
Where are you getting your ideas? How many pregnant teens ended up in workhouses or forced into abortion before, oh, the 1960’s?
People who oppose birth control are either religious fascists, or misogynist. How they think it is any of their business if a woman decides to put off childbearing is beyond me. As is your idea that those who oppose BC are into personal responsibility, since the two have zero to do with each other.
Diogenes the Cynic is poor?
Anyway, who has what power wasn’t the issue, it was Diogenes the Cynic expecting that these “rich people” should care about him, his feelings and his demands.
I don’t agree with either religion or government compelling people to give to anyone. Once you do that, you end up with a sub-set of society that expects that they will be taken care of and so do not have to hitch themselves to the plow as those who actually work for a living do. I have no problem with society taking care of those who truly cannot take care of themselves, but a large percentage of folks in the US work the system instead of working for a living.
I’m sorry, I couldn’t care less what Jesus’s opinions on the matter were.
Time will tell if US society as a whole views the healthcare bill as a “win”.
The rest of what you said, I really hope you know that none of it was true. With you guys, it can be very hard to tell.
Middle class.
No I didn’t. I don’t give shit one about what rivch people care about. You are making this up. It was Bricker who suggested that we shouldn’t tax rich people in order to better preserve their feelings of magnaninimity when they drop quarters in kettles.
This is a fraudulent and fantastic characterization of of basic civil responsibilities and necessary state functions.
So when can we start raping the cattle and stampeding the women?
When you were born into a modern human society.
Oh, please. People have gone into debt for all sorts of reasons since before there was such a thing as money. And most people started their families before getting good jobs, because most people never got a good job at all.
Well, you are wrong. Arranging for a quiet abortion whether she likes it or not is one of the traditional methods of dealing with getting a young girl pregnant. As was shoving her into one of those slave labor centers the Catholics ran for uppity young women.
I grew up in America, where that is exactly the attitude of people who make speeches about personal responsibility. It’s nothing more than a noble sounding word for sociopathy; the denial of all responsibility and all respect for other human beings whatsoever.
But holding him responsible for that goes against the principle of personal responsibility. If he managed to victimize her, that just proves she deserved to be victimized; that’s personal responsibility.
There are both built on a complete disdain for the rights of others and a towering feeling of self entitlement; they fit well together, and are generally pushed by the same people. After all, if you are poor or sick or helpless, it must be because God hates you and you deserve whatever happens to you. And if you are healthy and well off, it is because you are the Chosen of God, and superior to the vermin who are not as prosperous or healthy as you are.
Then I guess Big T’s response didn’t apply.
From your post, #151 -
You want to force “the rich” to care about giving you whateveritis that you are on about this month, yet are proud to not care at all about them. I’d say that the public has no obligation to indulge in your desire to have the government take care of you.
Actually, it isn’t a characterization of basic civil responsibilities or necessary state functions at all.
No, that is not true. Just because you think that everyone has a right to have everything they want doesn’t mean that I or anyone else is responsible for providing that. I am in no way responsible for making you happy.
I was talking about what was accepted as “correct” by society - I am well aware that there have always been people who think that they can do or buy whatever they want whether they will ever be able to afford it or not. Or just steal it. The difference now is that for some reason society seems to think that everyone has a right to 2.3 kids, a house and a white picket fence as soon as they want them, whether they have an education or not, whether they have a job or not, whether they have done anything at all to earn any of it.
It is extremely difficult for me to take anything you say seriously when you keep exaggerating like this.
“America” is a very big place. Apparently you grew up some place where being responsible for oneself was a bad thing, which might be why there are so many irresponsible people in this country these days.
I’m sorry, that doesn’t even make sense. How about you come up with a scenario that doesn’t involve exaggerations like “victimize”?
Again, you are not making any sense. What does your economic status have to do with birth control?
Can I get in on this? My qualifications are rape, murder, arson, and rape.
I already started. You wait too long you get stuck with an ugly cow.
Nobody on this board is “responsible” for paying your disability so you can sit on your fat ass and compose shrill hypocritical screeds about other people (but not you!) sponging off the public’s largesse.
And yet most of us do, and yet here you are, and there you go once again.
ETA: Napkin sandwiches.
The guy who tossed the dollar bills came forward. And he says he’s sorry.

Also the Parkinson’s guy was a former nuclear engineer. Must be too lazy to get a job with health insurance, right Curlcoat?
Well, at least the apology sounds reasonably sincere… even if it may have been scared out of him by people on the webbernets threatening to kill him.
Is it wrong that this made me laugh?
I have never said you are - that is something that you wish to believe simply because you don’t agree with my opinions. This also has nothing to do with whether or not I or anyone else is responsible for making you happy.
Again, since you all have never been able to do this, I dare you to find even one post that actually (as in, not in your imagination and/or paranoia) fits that description. The opposite is actually true - you all try to “prove” your points by calling me names, exaggerating and making things up. It’s very immature.
No. My post was immature. Most other people have attempted reasonable debates with you. Not me. I still want to rape your money.
