I met someone the other day who’s name is Jack Haugh pronounced Hoff and he is studying to teach Jr High School…boy is he asking for it or what? I can see it now…“Hello class my name is Mr. Jack Haugh…” after those words it would be all over. ---

A fellow in company training introduced himself as Richard Head. Very nice fellow. I pondered how much hell the guy had gone through based on a name like that. ---

There as a wedding announcement in the local paper here a while ago. Desire something was marrying a guy named Steven Dick. Her new name would be Desire Dick. I’m sure it was pronounced Dez-e-ray but still. ---

My brother once had a teacher named Mr. Dickman. I don’t know his first name. He is known to this day as Mr. Dickhead in our family. I don’t know whether he deserved the change or not, but can you imagine teaching seventh grade with a name like that??? ---

My teachers have never introduced themselves by their full names, but then, I don’t go to one of them damn hippie Montessori schools, so things might be different there. 😛 Mr. Haugh got off pretty easily, though. I mean, I think his name is fairly innocuous taken one name at a time. 🙂 Thanks! ---

My first grade teacher’s name was Mrs. Muukenfus… pronounced “MUCK-en-foose.” I don’t really remember how it was spelled, just that it was strange. Anyway, I do remember vividly the afternoon I arrived home from my first day of school all proud of myself, told my parents my new teacher’s name… … and they were on the floor, crying and holding their stomachs, laughing so hard. And I didn’t get it. And they wouldn’t tell me why it was funny. Good thing Mrs. Muukenfus taught first grade. ---

Since “Jack” is just a nickname for “John,” couldn’t he introduce himself as “John Haugh” if he needs to mention a first name? ---
