Did she do it in front of her class? [No.](http://www.wftv.com/education/2927087/detail.html) Now, she didn’t show the best judgement, but for crying out loud, it was on her own time. She wasn’t at work. She wasn’t taking the class on a field trip. She was at a party, had a few too many, and the inhibitions went away. I don’t think she should lose her job over this. Just goes to show you…be careful who takes your picture. ---

Wow, all I have to say is that I can never be a teacher – there are far to many pictures of my boobs out there. I have partied it up with both of my kids kindergarten teahcers. It doesn’t bother me that they drink and have a good time. They are both great teachers. ---

It was a stupid thing to do but she shouldn’t lose her job over it. It’s not like she did it in class or anything. ---

I have a friend who’s an elementary school teacher. She doesn’t drink or smoke in public because she’s worried another teacher or a parent may see her (we live in a conservative area - Bible Belt). She sucks down the 7 & 7’s on Friday nights out on her patio, though! ---

I used to work for a school system. Hanging out with school administrators and staff can be a hoot as well as eye-popping. Moral turpitude rules are a joke. ---

Naw, naw, naw. You people just don’t get it. Teachers are \*not supposed \* to be human beings. After all, we trust these people with our _children._ Teachers are expected to be superhuman, superintelligent, supercompetent, and pretty much utterly beyond reproach, on duty and off, regardless of the fact that we require them to get and maintain some pretty extreme credentials, we pay them like incompetent bag boys, and we, as a society, crap on them more or less continuously. I mean, come on… we’ve already accepted, from our politicians, the paradigm that public education is hopelessly screwed up, and that teachers are evil, venal, lazy creatures who must be whipped and beaten more or less continuously in order to force them to do their jobs, right? Plainly, when a teacher is caught acting like a human, we can but fire him or her. After all, it’s certainly a fact that there are plenty more where they came from. Right? ---

My younger sister is a Kindergarten teacher. On Saturday night, she went out with a couple of friends and coworkers to a deck bar. As she’s sitting there, enjoying her beer, an SUV pulls up to the light, and finger equipted with cigarette comes pointing out the window at her accompanied by an obviously drunken voice bellowing, “Oh my God! That’s my daughter’s TEACHER!” Nice to know who’s setting the good examples. ---

Allow me to dissent. Is it too much to ask that our role-models act like, say, Role Models? This goes for politicians(heh!), sports figures, teachers, etc. anyone else that has any public interest and whose actions don`t just effect themselves, but their cities, teams and fellow teachers. Not to mention all of the people that look up to these persons. I think certain positions should be held to higher standards, - teachers being one of them. If you`re a public figure, or a role model, you need to be more aware of how well the threads that keep your head screwed on are seated. And thus be willing to accept the results of your screwups. I also don`t think that she should be fired for this, maybe a short suspension and a public apology at worst. ---

Sorry, **Uncommon** , I don’t agree. If the teacher were drunk driving or selling crack, you would have a point. But getting a little too tipsy at a party and flashing her lovelies? Uh-uh. That’s not a crime. And in fact, if someone hadn’t taken a picture and put it on the Web, no one ever would have known. ---

Back when I was in H.S. in the 70’s, I used to smoke pot with my Science teacher. Not once did he _ever_ show me his boobs. 😃 ---

Y’know, if I have a daughter and the worst thing she does is flash her goods to a bar full of Superbowl fans, I’d say that her teachers did a pretty good job. Cause teachers are the only ones who have any influence over children. Certainly parents can’t be expected to instill any values. :rolleyes: Yet another casualty in the never-ending parade of overreaction. Seriously, everyone just take a deep breath and **relax**! [slight hijack] I would think a lawsuit might soon be pending against the person who put the pictures on the internet, and the person who emailed them to the faculty. Any lawyers have an opinion? How does this action affect anyone else? Nobody would even know about it if some yutz hadn’t posted pictures on the 'net, and some other yutz hadn’t basically decided what you did, which is that because she had too many drinks in private, her behavior when she’s sober during the day and in front of kids was somehow compromised. ---

**GMRyujin** , I never said anything that extreme. I was also pretty lenient on the suggested punishment, I think. See, the thing is, you want to blame everyone else but HER. The photographer, the guy that posted them, the bartender, the parents, society, etc. Why not give her a little slap on the wrist to send the message, “Look, you shouldnt act recklessly if this is the profession you`ve chosen." "And if you do, the scrutiny will be moreso than if you were some average Joe walking around. Learn this, understand this, accept this." I could care less if she pulled her top over her head, really. Just don`t get caught. The carelessness in her actions bother me the most. Sure she made a mistake and she probably regrets it, which means she knows it was wrong. Which means she`ll learn from this and probably never do it again. All this because some people WERE upset. You can`t dispute that. If people were indeed upset then there was something more to it than you`re willing to accept. I think she should be able to go out and have just as much fun as anyone else, within the confines of what society deems as acceptable behavior. Flashing ones lovelies is not a normal acceptable thing to do. It`s not something I would turn my head from either. I`d enjoy the view as long as possible, but I would still think, "Man, she was crazy, I hope she doesn`t get busted for that.” Full well expecting that she may indeed get busted. **Marley23** , You make a good point, but people DID find out. Her students undoubtedly know what happened. You think she garnishes the same amount of respect from them? Probably not. It goes with the job, if she was a thousand other professions, it wouldn`t matter to me. I started a thread a while back about a teacher who threw a drinking party for her underage students. She ended up resigning over the issue, after the school suspended her. Certain levels of maturity, decision making, and common sense are expected with certain positions.
