The new suit would look better if it wasn’t so monochromatic. Paint most of the suit grey, leave the bat, and a few other highlights as they are, and it’d look better, I think.

Yeah, I recall in _No Man’s Land_ he had infra-red capabilities and in _Hush_ there was a “Terminator”-like visual recognition system in place. I doubt they will be so high-tech in an origin storyline, but simple lenses would be a great touch.

Yeah, if Affleck could have red lenses over his eyes in _Daredevil_ I don’t see why they can’t put lenses in Batman’s cowl…

The [Batman Chronology](http://ourworld.cs.com/argentprime/batman.htm) (and the [IMDb](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0035665/trivia)) imply that the Batcave concept is from the 1943 serials. The Chronology also says that the cavern underneath Wayne Manor was discovered in Detective Comics #205 (March, 1954), after Bruce bought the place. Nevermind the question of why it wasn’t willed to him.
I should note that the only place I’ve personally seen the Batcave story was in a hardcover collection of the dailies, the book used it as a prelude IIRC. I don’t remember that sequence was supposed to take place prior to the death of his parents or not.

**Jeff Olsen.** Thank you, thank you for posting that extremely informative Golden Age Batman webpage link.
I’ve never read any of the 40s Batman dailies, and never realized before now their apparent usefulness as source material for the comics.
Can anyone here pinpoint the exact date of the Batcave origin in the dailies? I may want to try and track down a copy of the actual comic(s) next time i visit the Cartoon Library at OSU, or one of the reprint collections.
