# Technical issue: I have a link to "Go to First Post" in thread titles.

So get this,
I don’t think it’s my browser (Firefox 3.0.12), but I noticed last night and now today, that every time I open a forum, the _first listed thread_ has a text link that says “Go to first new post” between the little envelope icon and the actual linked thread title. Of course, when I mouse over that little link, it disappears.
Anyone else notice it?

It’s just that spot, and it’s only on forum views. :dubious:

I see it when my connection is running slow and the board lags when it first loads. The words load first and then get replaced by the square icon.

I have bolded the part called “the alt text” – a graphic link like this usually has an alternative text so that if the image doesn’t load properly, the user still knows what the link does; without it, there would just be a generic “image” symbol. When things are slow, and the image doesn’t load right away, the text will appear briefly, as you saw.
