What I am amused by this statement is **either** I’m a shit liar and you can “see right through me” or I’m a master liar and, what, I “slipped up” on a message board where I can review what I type? Both statements cannot both be true.

> And where do you build a logical foundation for accusing me of ‘siding with the enemy’ while you’ve admitted to supporting human trafficking and organized crime?

Paying a local girl (and yes, she’s local, she introduced me to her mom one drunken night) to fuck me isn’t supporting trafficking or organized crime.

> If you’re paying $1000 per month to live, spending $70k per year on hookers, and still have to pay taxes, then you need $105k per year. But, if you are able to get to that point - which is a fair climb from 80k - then you have zilch for retirement and you’re just going to be living on government rations for the last 40 years of your life.

Correct. My only note here is that “105k” is not much of a climb, the average for my specific degree is 130k. 105k is entry level in many places. I know I am getting screwed at 80k.

I believe he is a low level software drone working for a company I’ve probably heard of. I believe that his greatest professional aspiration is to be a low level software drone for Google, Apple, Amazon, Netflix or Facebook. That boy’s a real cog in the machine.
>
> And I believe that he pays the skankiest most disease-riddled whores he can find $500 for a wet dick and a dose of clap. Because his requirements pretty much assure that he’s going to be fucking the slime at the bottom of the whore barrel.
>
> What I do have trouble believing is that he’s PROUD of this life. He brags about it. He’s PROUD to be who he is. To me, that is more implausible than building a chairlift to the top of Mount Everest.

Correct. My greatest aspiration is to become a more _specialized_ cog. No different than an aerospace engineer in 1950 wanting to become more specialized in jet engines, knowing the field would see huge growth and improvements. (I want to be more specialized in robotics or machine learning)

$500 is not cheap in the hooking world, at least in the South. My last STD test was clean, though I probably have genital warts. (they are so common the normal test panel doesn’t test for them)

> Also, paying $4000 a month to get laid is pretty steep, especially when you only get paid a gross of around $5000 a month.

A few details. The $500 a fuck hooker was a sugar baby. She was primarily working as a stripper as her day job and I met her on a site where I have to show my photo as well, and convince her to pick me, etc. It’s not quite the same relationship as traditional prostitution. It still basically is that, but it’s something where you have somewhat of an ongoing relationship with the girl, I have been to her apartment, petted her dog, got her drunk several times, and so on. She later bought a car with the thousands of dollars I had given her and came and picked me up and gave me rides in it. She later crashed it.

Was I “corrupting” this 22 year old woman? Absofuckinglutely. But what we did is de facto legal (“mistress” style relationships are legal), she’s a consenting adult, and I don’t regret it in the slightest.

Also I got tested before fucking her bareback. I haven’t picked up any STDs except probably genital warts, which 90% of adults get eventually.

I have _also_ gone to Eastern Europe where I have fucked hookers _in_ Eastern Europe, for local prices. I seriously doubt they were “trafficked”. Was I taking advantage of these young (adult) girls selling their bodies in a somewhat seedy brothel? Fuck yes. Also there were a dozen local men who look like extras from the Taken movies I’d see coming in and out of that brothel. So, well, when in Rome.

> We should be doing more than just trying to reduce CO2. And while, yes, we don’t know that other solutions won’t work or won’t have side effects that don’t make them worthwhile, there really hasn’t been much spending on the subject of alternatives to CO2 reduction and there’s really no reason for us to be in that position. As it is,
>
> Ultimately, we don’t know if there’s a runaway point where everything goes to hell. Trusting that we won’t reach it in the course of the 40-60 years that it takes to turn around carbon emissions, and having **zero** fallbacks that we’ve at least studied enough to know whether they’ll be useful at all, is a bad idea when you’re looking at something which could potentially lead to a mass extinction event. If things start to pick up, we need to be ready to build giant CO2 scrubbers or whatever, regardless of how expensive it is, and have them be effective at shutting down the feedback loop.
> .

Thank you for some goddamn sanity in this thread. Everyone else just lets wolfpup spout whatever. The _flaw_ in wolfpups thinking…the same flaw pointed out by the freakonomics authors, when they **are** talking in their wheelhouse, is fossil fuels provide a huge economic benefit on a **national** level. And CO2 capture/sequestration requires roughly as much or more **money** to remove a ton of CO2 as the polluters gained in value when they emitted it! It’s a losing situation, the economic arrows make fixing the problem essentially unfeasible.

That genetics determine penis size or that there’s correlation between “races” and penis size? A bit of googling shows the first part is pretty much an undisputed fact. The second part, well, it seems the definition of ‘race’ is fuzzy and rather arbitrary. Are South Koreans a different ‘race’ than Japanese? To Western eyes there doesn’t seem to be much difference, but it seems to [matter](https://www.tokyoreporter.com/japan-news/tabloid/tenga-survey-data-sheds-new-light-on-how-japanese-males-measure-up/).

If you’re too fucking stupid to see that calling someone an ethnic slur because of the color of their skin is similar to calling them a peckerwood because of the contents of their trousers, you are truly a moron.

What do you think makes someone’s skin a particular color? What makes someone’s dick grow to a particular size?

Think, dumbass, think.

Some of you are basically begging the question in defining “trafficking” as “sex workers without proper documentation being exploited by a greedy employer who takes advantage of their undocumented status for their own benefit”. Why does this not apply to every undocumented Latin American immigrant who picks lettuce or cleans toilets? (Answer: because sex.)

> [@Sage\_Rat](#):
>
> And I mean, I do accept that there are also people who straight up love sex and would gladly be paid to do it professionally. I have no objection to that happening. But it’s not the majority of cases, and I wouldn’t trust that the outward impression of happiness is correct nor, even if it was correct, that it signals something good.

This is too high a bar. Many of us, probably most of us, work at jobs we don’t love and might hate. If we work for a capitalist enterprise and make under $100K, we are almost certainly being exploited in terms of unfair compensation for the value we provide (Google “Marx surplus value” if you are not familiar with the concept.)

People seem to think there is something uniquely wrong with doing sex work unless you love it. I am challenging that notion.

> [@Ann\_Hedonia](#):
>
> I don’t have a problem with sex workers. I do have a problem with sex workers that disregard the number one safety rule in their workplace, so to speak, by having sex with customers without a condom. Especially if they are carrying a sexually transmitted disease. It’s not just the level of self-hate involved, it’s a public health issue. And men that seek that out are really low and disgusting, because they don’t give a damn about the health of their partner or their own health. As long as it feels good now.
>
> And in the era of DNA testing, it’s risky on a different level. Samuel A may end up living in a cardboard box because his 80K salary is being garnished to pay for the support of the kids he fathered with his hookers.

These OTOH are excellent points. I can’t rebut any of them.

Buddy… your reference comes not from a scientific journal, nor from a reputable research institution. The study was conducted by Tenga, a Japanese sex toy company, and their data collection process used “self measurement”.
On top of that, Tenga was the sponsor of the news site you attempted to use as a primary reference. So you basically just used an ad from a gossip column to back up what you think is science.
Of course they’re going to say that South Koreans have smaller dicks. Do you have any fucking idea of the cultural attitudes those two countries have for each other? Have you any clue about the geopolitical rivalry between the two countries? The “study” was simply another way to promote their product, gain brand awareness, and poke fun of their frenemies to the west, South Korea.

Your cite doesn’t prove what you think it does. In fact, the only thing it proves is that you are deserving of everything people are saying about you in this thread. You are blissfully ignorant and delusional.

That’s OK, everything Sammy knows about climate science he got from _SuperFreakonomics_, which he appears to have studied assiduously. Armed with this kind of knowledge, Sammy goes forth to solve all the world’s problems, which all turn out to be trivial if you have Sammy’s giant throbbing brain and a few swarms of superintelligent nanobots.

Trafficking doesn’t even have to be of immigrants: women and boys are prostituted against their will in their own country every day, and this includes Americans in the US. That it is against their will doesn’t mean they spend every waking moment whimpering, it means they’d rather be almost anywhere else doing almost anything else they can think of.

This comment is stupid. Why? Because in \<a certain city in Eastern Europe\> where would you traffic women _from_? There’s an estimated million sex workers in the city already and the price to fuck one is extremely low, why kidnap more? What economic incentive is there?

I was talking about sampling the wares on offer _in_ Eastern Europe, specifically, Kiev.

Am I a bad person for trying out what’s on offer, like several million other men do a year? Hence my “when in Rome” comment, by local standards of morality the answer is a clear and resounding no.

The author of this book conducted extensive interviews and research into legal brothels and the women that work in them. What I found illuminating was that, even in the world of legal prostitution, most of the women that work there had been either groomed or coerced into the job by a husband or boyfriend. Not all pimps wear funny hats.

And if Samuel A has an STD, which he admits he does, he shouldn’t keep on having unprotected sex with hookers and spreading it. And people that want to legitimize sex work should be the strongest objectors to this behavior.

Umm, no, I don’t admit that? Quote it. Also, uh, somehow I doubt the author of this book went to Eastern Europe or knows anything about modern ‘sugar baby’ websites.

From the description, nope, USA only. So maybe I’m a dirtbag for wanting to fuck 22 year old 9.5/10 Ukrainians. Obviously I am not born with near perfect looks and no probable sequence of events would see me in a long term relationship with one. (though I am trying). Let’s say that Bob points out that children are being separated from their families and never reunited with them, being put into orphanages and turned into messed up adults who commit crime, and John’s response is, “I’m just trying to make people understand that it’s illegal to enter the country.”

Would you say that John gives the impression that he’s paying enough attention to the whole body of information to make a reasonable and nuanced statement, or that he’s blasting over a bunch of stuff to hit a political point that he’s decided at some point in history and he will now simply not back down on regardless of anything, whether his position was well informed historically or not?

None of which is to say that John couldn’t come to the same conclusion, having taken in and digested all information, but it’s still nice to think that people are being mentally honest and knowingly accepting that the Nirvana fallacy is a fallacy, nothing is perfect. But I would expect some numbers that make me think that John believes that we’re looking at the best of all imperfect options.

Manoman if I hear any more about this Everest whackiness. (Storms off to Ricky’s at 24,000 for manicure and perm.)
