Disposable chopsticks is an innovation in chopstick technology as are plastic chopsticks (easier to clean)?
Yes, chopsticks are great for soup, aren’t they? And so good for holding a piece of meat still while you slice it with a knife. Spoons especially are a better design for shovelling food in your mouth than chopsticks. You don’t see the advantage there?
Fact of the matter is, I imagine the disposability of chopsticks was a huge advantage in the hygeine department back before washing things was widely understood to be important to health in Europe.
