Seriously. Cruz is a jerk and would be a danger to humanity as president; Fiorina a failed executive who would be unprepared to step into the presidency and who is no leader. But dang, trying to make hay over _this_, and for that matter her sharing the song she sings with the Cruz kids, is pretty weak.

He knew she probably still had her golden parachute.

> Republicans’ views of Cruz are now the worst in Gallup’s history of tracking the Texas senator. His image among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents is at 39% favorable and 45% unfavorable, based on April 24-30 interviewing, for a net favorable score of -6. The last few days have marked the first time we have seen Cruz’s image underwater since we began daily tracking in July…
>
> His current -6 net favorable rating is a far cry from where it was in late December and early January when his net favorable was +48, some 54 points higher than today.

Ted Cruz has apparently quit out of the US Republican nomination.

> [@CBS News](#):
>
> [Source Here](http://www.cbsnews.com/news/ted-cruz-drops-out-of-presidential-race-after-indiana-loss/)
>
> Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is ending his campaign for the Republican nomination Tuesday night, CBS News’ Major Garrett has confirmed, effectively ensuring Donald Trump will become the GOP’s standard-bearer in 2016.
>
> Cruz will concede the race at an event in Indianapolis following the results of Tuesday’s Indiana primary, which Trump won handily. CBS News called the race for Trump right at 7 p.m., when the polls closed; with 59 percent of precincts reporting in Indiana, Trump led Cruz by 16 points, 53 percent to 37 percent.
>
> The Texas senator had focused heavily on the Hoosier State following loses to Trump in the five Northeastern primaries last week. He spent a great deal of time campaigning across the state, touted an endorsement from Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, and sought to energize his campaign by announcing former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina as his running mate.
>
> But ultimately, Cruz got the two-man race against Trump he’d been wanting all along–and he still lost. With Trump winning the majority of delegates out of Indiana, he is on the path to reach 1,237 delegates by the end of voting in June.

Or the Cruz-kasich alliance. But those were both Hail Marys. He had to know the chances of success were slim.

I wonder where Cruz goes from here. He clearly was skillful in positioning himself as the true conservative both through his time in the Senate and in his campaign for President. But it doesn’t seem like the party base is even conservative anymore in any meaningful sense of the word. Just angry. Will Cruz spend the next few years going full on populist?

Heh. Just like in 2008. Now predicit actually has slightly higher odds for a Democratic contested convention than a Republican contested convention. This election has been a tragicomedy.

No one who calls Sanders that has any credibility. It is not even defensible as hyperbole. Calling Trump a fascist would be defensible as hyperbole. Calling Sanders a communist is a category error.

Gotta say, for someone as devout as Cruz is supposed to be, finding out that God doesn’t want you to be President must sting a little.
