Let’s try this: Let’s give Texas a 5-year trial separation. Let them be their own “pretend” independent sovereign nation for a 5-year period, with all that entails, and see how they fare. We (the remaining 49-state United States) will of course, make them pay for the wall we will build. ---

I know you were. But the Supreme Court has already ruled that a state senate composed in this way, with representation not based on population is un-federal-constitutional in the case I cited. That trumps what the Texas Constitution wants to do. ---

Do they still have a lot of refineries in Texas? Once they secede, and the environmental protection restraints are off, the whole state will become a superfund site. ---

If Texas secedes from the union, should we just sit back as Mexico immediately steps in and reclaims it? I would be cool with that if the US tries it’s best to bring all the loyalists (to the US) out. ---
