I found out about xkcd when the strip from post #3 was posted awhile back. It seems like every once in awhile, someone posts a link to an xkcd strip on the SDMB. They seem to go together. ---

I have a lot of admiration for xkcd. I was initially resistant to it because I didn’t like the stick figure style – I felt that a webcomic creator should display at least a minimum of artistic skill. But I’ll happily admit that I was wrong and good writing alone can carry a strip. ---

Indeed. What I like about it is that it’s not always about going for the funny. Sometimes it’s whimsy, sometimes it’s a parable about life, or love. But usually it’s funny, and SMART funny which is key. Last week, my psych teacher put one in he power point lecture notes. I was the only one that cracked up. ---

Which one? I have “Everybody stand back, I know Regular Expressions” outside of my cubical at work. I also use a variant of an xckd line as a sig line in various places and am always amused when someone picks up on it. ---
