A reference to MrDibble I think, and his expressed hostility towards God even if he was real.
That’s my understanding - although the attribution is unclear, as I’m also an anarchist, and that’s the most extreme rightmost :dubious: point on that line
Practically all religions proscribe a behavior that is expected to be part of the religion.
I apologize the word should be 'prescribe, not ‘proscribe’.
liturgy - a customary repertoire of ideas, phrases, or observances
fervor - intensity of feeling or expression
Repertoires can be scaled according to intensity
These liturgies/behaviors are in no particular order.
Native American Religionist 2 – Some smoke peyote
Mennonite Church USA 23 – ride buckboards
Jehovah’s Witnesses 2 – Ring your doorbell
Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod 3, 20 – Don’t play with ouji boards
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) 15 – some are into polygamy, live in Utah.
Pentecostal 2 – They like to talk in tongues a lot (channel)
United Methodist Church 20 – They are into psychology and spiritualism (I like this church the best)
Evangelical (theologically) 16 - I think these put fishes on their bumpers
Buddhist 13 – the dot in middle of forehead
Hindu 13 – have cows running around loose
nondenominational – these are the ones who have started churches to avoid paying taxes
Shiite Muslim – they beat themselves with chains 100 million Moqtada al-Sadr is Shiite
Sunni Muslim – More liberal Muslim 800 million
Uhhhm, no?
I think I knew that - but I posted that after a 5.5 hour conference call, and my brain was mush.
So, where do we send our tithes?
TAke it down to the pub. Every pint raised in my name is a step closer to Heaven!
Mennonites come in multiple flavors. The Mennonite church next door to where I lived 20 years ago had a parking lot that filled up with black Mercedes, BMWs, Buicks, and Cadillacs each Sunday. You might be thinking of the Amish, none of whom, that I am aware, own automobiles.
Far more Christian denominations than the Missouri Synod Lutherans condemn ouija boards.
Mormons live all over North and South America and only a few fringe heretic elements engage in polygamy.
The forehead dot is a Hindu custom, not Buddhist.
Your claim that “nondenominational” equates to tax dodgers is historically wrong and is needlessly insulting (moreso in that it is clearly wrong).
bin Laden and his followers are members of the Wahabbist sect of Sunni Muslims. You just can’t get much more liberal than that.
At any rate, all you have done is provide a brief (error filled) list of behavioral outliers for various groups. One can hardly take from such a list (even if complete and accurate) any understanding of the group. You originally claimed that you could plot a political graph based on religious characteristic. Sam Stone challenged you and this list was your response. How does a prohibition on ouija boards fit in with whether a person will vote for a Democrat or a Republican or a third party candidate? How does such a rule affect their love of country, willingness (or unwillingness) to defend that country, follow its laws, pay its taxes, support wars, support charity, or any of the other possible actions that might affect one’s position on your graph?
