On the True Life Movie Channel there are films whos descriptions are… A couple grieving at the death of their young son take a shine to a young irreverant boy.
A woman on being diagnosed with terminal Cancer comes to terms with her life.

A divorced mother bringing up two children on her own remembers her dysfunctional childhood and her brutal alcoholic father.

There are a number of sitcoms over the past few years that fit this description, and some of them were aired on mainstream channels in the U.S.

This sounds much like the movies that are shown on the Lifetime Channel in the U.S.

Does anyone really watch QVC or HSN. I can’t imagine watching shows that sell garbage. Also, what’s the deal with infomercials? I’ve only watched one, because it had a sexy broad using a device that I actually helped design.

Older people love those shopping networks. They love calling and getting their voice on the air. When I worked at a credit card company about 10 years ago, I saw plenty of accounts where older people would order tons of stuff from the shopping networks and then return it all. Thousands of dollars worth of merchandise.
