# Tell me about a program called Python 2.2

Does anyone know what this is? I had to do a rather extensive scan and cleaning to for some rather nasty spyware last night, and I’m trying to sort out what belongs and what doesn’t on my computer. I’ve seen this program a few times. I have no idea what it does, or why it’s there, and I’m wondering if I should just remove it.

Any ideas?

It’s a programming language. Perhaps it’s Windows that doesn’t belong on your computer but python won’t hurt you.

As for why it’s on your PC, you may have some application partially or completely written in Python, which installed it as part of its installation routine.
