Tell me about Burlington, VT

Rutland has always struck me more as having a Camden, NJ vibe. Although with their new “I heart Rutland” campaign, the city will hopefully be upgraded to Detroit, Jr. in another year or so.

Well, I’ll find out soon enough. I have an orientation in the second half of July and then I’ll be traveling up pretty frequently. I could, if I wanted to, relocate there, with support from the company, but we’ve agreed to put that idea on the back burner while I settle in and see if it’s a good fit.

$ 600 a month rental. Perhaps you can commute in from Hardwick for that.

You’re forgetting UVM, it is a university town.

I assume you’ll be flying there and back, in the mean time. One of my other most favourite things about Burlington is the airport. It’s actually a relaxing airport from which to arrive/depart. Scenic views on final approach too.

And nice rocking chairs to hang out in before your flight.

I figure Rutland is the Chicago of Vermont: the Second City that gets overlooked because everyone’s only interested in the biggest city.

I think it gets overlooked because there is nothing there worth looking at.

They have a bigger and more deluxe movie theater than we do. That’s pretty much all I’ve done in Rutland.
