# Tell me about cutting off all contact with someone.  Or vice-versa.

A brother, who was verbally and physically (as in hitting) abusive throughout our childhood, and continued to be verbally abusive since then. He periodically cut off contact with the rest of the family. Blames our parents for ruining his life. Has never held a long-term job. Said vicious, horrible things to the rest of the siblings during and after our mother’s final illness. Altered view of reality that tends (IMO) toward paranoia, narcissism, and/or BPD. He’s free to attempt to contact me if he wishes but I cannot imagine any circumstance in which he would do so, nor would I respond if he did.

I cut off a toxic “friend” 13years ago. It was actually mutual. And easy as pie. I occasionally think of him. The thoughts always end on “what a tool.”
