It is a cheap Night Owl system I picked up from the big box store for $300 a couple years ago; 8 cameras, continuous record DVR, web access, etc. Not very pretty - the cameras look like crap but they show evidence.
Today, as with all consumer electronics, it’s cheaper and better. I don’t claim any great knowledge on the subject beyond “Yes, have some!”
I presume an appropriate Google search will yield a Cnet comparison article. My comment is that even a cheap system is far better than none at all.
