We should haul DoctorJ out of the holler and have a LexDope sometime before you go.

HEY! If it takes place after June 1st, don’t forget me!

Don’t expect to have anything to do on Sunday mornings…unless you want to go to church.

Hope the Sunday paper is really thick down there. Maybe that could be my catch-up time for the Dope!

Lexington, KY and surrounding cities. Love It? Hate It? As a lifelong northerner, will I be ostracized as a Damn Yankee, or will I have a chance at fitting in?
Time’s running short for me, but based on everything I’ve discovered, Lexington is the leading candidate for my future home.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I was born and raised in Lexington in the 80’s and 90’s and I was greatly frustrated by the utter lack of things to do, as were all my friends. Luckily they’ve recently made a serious effort to revitalize the downtown. Condos are going up every day, businesses and museums are opening, and in short western civilization has finally arrived. Prices are still quite reasonable, unlike in many cities. There are five or six quality restraunts in the downtown plus a number of cheaper places near the university. There’s also live theatre, a comedy club, and the Kentucky Theatre, which shows independent and foreign films. The biggest social events are the basketball games.
Best of all the entire downtown/university area is small enough to walk around. You could technically survive without a car if you so chose.
To be totally accurate, though, the comedy club is no where near downtown. What museums have opened?
