Never been to Mario’s, so can’t speak to that, but I’ll certainly stand by the other recommendations. And while the Old Lux’s neighborhood is certainly not great, I’ve never felt remotely unsafe there. YMobviouslyVs. ---

Eat at Saputo’s if you want to hang out with the political movers and shakers. Mike Madigan will walk past you (without making eye contact) on his way back to his private dining area. I was also going to recommend Bentoh’s, an Obama-endorsed Thai place, but it seems to have closed or moved or something. Recycled Records is worth a stop if you’re into that kind of thing. ETA: I see that your trip is probably over already. Never mind. ---
