# Tell me about the Euros

A question for European dopers - how exactly do Euros work? I understand it’s a common currency and that actual coins and bills are printed. But have they completely replaced the old national currencies? Do Berliners carry marks or euros in their wallets to go grocery shopping? Do Parisians conduct their salary negotiations in francs or euros? When a Londoner calls someone a millionaire is he talking pounds or euros?

Last I heard, the UK was going to wait ten years (two years ago?) before even considering (or holding a refferendum) on adopting the euro.
