Tell Me About The First Time You Saw Snow (If You Were Raised In A Place With Rare Snow)

I don’t remember the first time I saw snow, as (like other Southern Californians in the thread) I was able to make trips up to the local mountains for that.

But I do recall the first time I saw it actively snowing. I would have been 21 or 22, visiting Concordia, Missouri for a business trip. I was beside myself with joy, acting like a little kid, standing outside in my shorts and a big jacket and just taking it in, letting it land on my face, etc. Truly gleeful.

To the detriment of my wife and others around me, that is STILL my reaction to snow. Every time.

We should be seeing quite a bit of snow now but have not had hardly any this winter yet. They even dusted off the drought monitor and said we are in a moderate drought after having made some gains a little while ago.
