Despite my several trips to the States, I have yet to walk into a Victoria’s Secret to try on a bra. We don’t have Victoria’s Secret in Montreal, so it’s sort of a mysterious entity to me. Does it live up to the hype at all? Is it worth a look, next time I pass by? We have a lingerie store called **LaSenza** here, which I’m assuming is sort of equivalent… has anyone visited both and can tell me whether that’s true? I find that at LaSenza, all the bras are made with exactly the same molded shape, which doesn’t fit _my_ shape at all. Looking through the VS website, I can’t really tell much about the construction of the underthings. I need advice from someone who’s been on the inside. So, Dopers with boobies - what do you think? ---

They don’t tend to carry anything it “big” - the retail stores here max out at a C cup. They did offer to fix me up with a Wonderbra - I looked at the clerk like she was nuts and said “I really don’t need any enhancing.” ---

I’ve only been in a couple of Victoria’s Secret stores, and it’s been a few years, but from that experience, yeah I’d say they are an awful lot like La Senza in terms of product carried. In the couple I were in though they had more floor space than the average La Senza here with correspondingly more stuff. ---

I like VS a little more than LaSenza and look forward to my trips across the border so I can buy another bra or two. ---

They always have the basics in stock. I mostly order online, though. I really like their Body by Victoria line. ---

I find them pretty much the same… in recent trips, I’ve found La Senza slightly more cutesy than VS, but not much. Other than that, no real difference. It’s definitely the same idea, if not exactly the same store. ---

My mother and I both shop at Victoria’s Secret. The different lines of bras they carry are, in my experience, styled differently; there’s one style in particular that claims to be a full cup, but fits me more like a demi cup. They sell out of large cup sizes very quickly, so if you’re looking for pretty colors it’s best to ask someone at the store when the next shipment will arrive. The bras are pricey, but they last a long time. Mom has been particularly happy with the support and shaping properties of the bras – particularly the Ipex. (She recently had a friend pull her aside and ask if she had “gained some weight” in the chest area – the difference is that noticable.) ---

I thought that Victoria’s Secret referred to the occult place of sexuality in Victorian times, so the idea of lingerie per se would necessarily refer to a “hidden” or “secret” aspect of Victorian Era life: sexuality. Then again, maybe **[Austin Powers]she’s a man, baby[/Austin Powers]**. ---

The secret is, if you have big boobs, you can’t shop there. Okay, that’s exaggerating a little. I have, however, completely given up trying to find a bra there. It’s extremely hard to find bra in a VS store that is my cup size, and when I have, they don’t offer the kind of support I need. I refuse to buy bras from a catalog; it’s just asking for return shipping fees. I dunno. Maybe the girls are weird shaped or something, although Mr. Stuff seems to have no objections. I do, however, love their cotton panties. I buy a handful every time there is a big sale. ---

Around here, they used to carry bigger cups, then they completely dropped anything bigger than a C (but you can order it online - I agree with Stuff - I need to try on a bra and don’t need the hassle of returning ones that don’t fit), then started carrying them in limited quanities but not attractive for me styles, so that if I made the effort to find one and try it on - it seldom worked. Since most of my non-practical bra and pantie shopping tends to be last minute presents for my husband, I don’t have the time or patience to dink - Nordstrom gets my business. However, when I was twenty pounds thinner and pre children and my breasts were more appropriately styled for VS, I shopped a lot there. I could even order from their catalog and get things to fit, because they used one model who had my shape - if it fit her and looked good, it fit me (and didn’t look as good, but I don’t have professional lighting). ---

I don’t like VS bras at all. None of them fit me correctly, and IMHO, I think their overall quality is poor. I prefer higher-end department store brands. ---

The Body by Victoria bras are the only ones I bother wearing any more. They’re full coverage, make a good shape, and last a long time. I wear 36C and don’t know much about the store because I get my bras through e-bay for around $10-15. ---

My friend shops there and mentioned how $20 for a bra was a rock-bottom price!! Of course I buy Playtex bras on sale at KMart so that was a shocker. ---

I love VS, but I can’t afford to shop there, so I just beg for gift cards on my birthday. I second the comfort of the Body line. I also love the Pink line…I know that I can choose 10 different panties and they will all fit perfectly, feel comfortable and look cute. ---
