I have a Bosch Universal. Actually, I have two, also having the older model. And a Bosch Compact. 4 bowls for the Universals, 2 bowls for the Compact. My Universals will knead 8 loaves of bread dough. having extra bowls is great - this Christmas eve, I made regular bread, and while that was rising in the first bowl, I made homemade cinnamon and dinner rolls in a 2nd bowl. I love my stand mixers.

I bought my KA mixer from ebay - I looked and looked - for one made PRIOR to 1953 (IIR the Year C).
About mixers - the business is OWNED by Hobart - ever see a 20 gallon mixer?
KA was, originally, a line made by Hobart for the residential market - they were engineered to the same specs as the commercial units.
After they sold of the line, various owners have taken the quality on a roller coaster.
The main thing (aside from getting an original Hobart) is the tilt-head vs bowl-lift design. A quick reflection will tell you that introducing a hinge reduces the mass available for the drive mechanism. I will never come close to using a 6 qy capacity, but slamming that bowl up and over the cam is a very reassuring sensation.
I’d trust the Hobart units to become heirlooms - the later units, I’d expect to be hit-or-miss.

Actually, KitchenAid has been owned by Whirlpool since 1986, but they still make the mixers in Ohio.
Hobart, AFAIK, remains self-owned and continues to make the industrial sized machines.
We use our 6 quart “pro” mixer enough that it remains on the counter.
I worked with one of the big Hobart mixers. That thing was scary and would have snapped my arm off if I’d let it.
I have one and I love it. It’s really useful for those tasks that require more effort than I’m usually willing to spend, like creaming butter or mashing potatoes. It’s also really useful for those tasks that can safely be left alone for a few minutes while I go do something else for a while. And it’s easy enough that the sprog can use it, so he helps out in the kitchen without making a huge mess.
