While this year I just hung a wreath on the door and plugged in the party lights wrapped around a houseplant still I don’t understand the rush to undo all the trappings of Christmas, it’s depressing to see Christmas trees out on the curb already on the 26. We’d leave it all up until epiphany at least. ---

Military personnel are not my heroes. It’s a career choice and it’s something society needs, but I feel no need to gush over you and not over my mailman, garbage man, dentist, doctor, utility worker, and all the others that make society function. Nothing personal, but I don’t see what makes you worthy of adoration nor do I put more stock in your political opinions than those of anyone else. Statues do not teach history, they show what we value. We know all about Hitler without being exposed to statues of him. There is no valid reason to continue to display statues of people who waged war against our nation. ---
