I was literally kicked out of my neighbor’s house when I was 7 or 8 for getting a little too excited by a Green Bay touchdown (hey, I liked the green and yellow uniforms!) That taught me to keep any soft spot I have for the team on the down low, for the most part. ---

The only reason Ben Roethlisberger wasn’t prosecuted for rape is because the victim decided not to cooperate at the last minute so the DA had to drop the case. If that’s the kind of thing you like to root for, root for the Steelers. ---

I’m glad to see this thread since I’m having the same problem. Don’t know who to root for yet. The other three people I’ll be watching the game with are all going for the packers, so I think it might be more fun to go for the Steelers. But then again, I’m not a fan of Big Ben, guilty or not, his reputation does little to make me like him. But Troy is awfully cute and so much fun to watch. Decisions, Decisions! ---

I’m personally rooting for the Steelers, but I’ll still encourage you to root for the Packers anyway. And no, it’s not because of Rothlisburger: I think that was just a case of “he’s rich and famous, so let’s make up allegations to get fame and money”. Rather, the reason I’m rooting for the Steelers is that my family is from western PA, and I believe that one should root for one’s home teams. Now, that’s a perfectly good reason for me, but it’s (presumably) not applicable to you. And if it _weren’t_ for the fact that I have connections to Pittsburgh, I would be rooting for the Packers, since the whole community-owned thing is something that anyone can get behind. Point of fact, I like both teams, and in any other possible match-up, I’d root for the Packers (I’d also root for the Browns over the Packers, but that’s not a possible match-up). But I like Pittsburgh more. ---

Root for Green Bay. The Steelers have been famous as being the dirtiest team in football for years. Green Bay is not owned by another megalomaniac billionaire who is trying to gouge the people for every dime he can squeeze out. ---
