Good point. I can see that happening.

Hijack: Are you the same \*\*Rhosis \*\*as the one on TrekBBS? I saw a post by that name in the TOS forum there recently and have been wondering if they’re the same after I realized where I recognized the name from.

Guilty!

In fact, when your employer (forget her handle) posted about your accident, I asked her the same about you, intending to post the bad news at the TrekBBS so you could hear from your friends there, but I think she replied that she didn’t think it was you, or didn’t know for sure.

Apologies to the OP.

So that this wont be a total hijack, uh, both Beau and Jeff Bridges will win Lifetime Oscars in the next thirty years.

It always strikes me as madly insane that the **X-Men** movies have two Oscar winners in the cast, and none of them are Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, or Brian Cox. If I were any of those people I’d just go on a mean drunk sometime and beat the crap out of Halle Berry. No justice, man.

Peter O’Toole was nominated something like 4 times: Lawrence of Arabia, Lion in the Winter, Beckett and…uh…My Favorite Year? One of the most underrated actors of the last 40 years. He’s just that good you expect him to always do good and he is always overlooked.

Each and every one of them a _stellar_ and \*_brilliant_ performance.
And he gets an Honorary Award.
I weep.

Excuse me: **Seven** Nominations:

\*\*Lawrence of Arabia
Becket
Lion in Winter
Goodbye Mr. Chips
The Stuntman
My Favorite Year \*\*

and one I can’t remember.

And, in the ultimate example of trivia, here’s a list of the people that he lost to:

1963 (Lawrence of Arabia): Gregory Peck
1965 (Becket): Rex Harrison
1969 (The Lion In Winter): Cliff Robertson
1970 (Goodbye Mr. Chips): John Wayne
1973 (The Ruling Class): Marlon Brando
1981 (The Stunt Man): Robert De Niro
1983 (My Favorite Year): Ben Kingsley

I can see her getting a Lifetime Achievement Award simply because she’s a Barrymore.

I hate to admit it, but you are probably right. When Tom Hanks was on “Bosom Buddies”, who’d ever have thought that he would arrive where he is today.

If Carrey can put his shtick aside, he could do very well. Once upon a time, I said much the same about Bruce Willis, and he’s doing OK nowadays.
