Hardwood. Never saw compressed pine pellets being sold as fuel.

My great-great grand aunt Nettie used to make cornbread and even hot corn zombies on her corncob burning stove. Fried chicken with corn breading, too. She passed on when I was 18. The stove got sold for scrap.

“Hot Corn Zombies” would be a good name for a band.
