I’m sure OP intended no malice, but “tell me you’re a woman without telling me you’re a woman” logically implies that there is a way to know if someone is a woman _other_ than her telling you her gender identity. At a minimum that implies stereotypes of gender expression, at worst it could be interpreted as transphobic. ---

There’s plenty of tone policing of what women aren’t supposed to say to avoid offending a small minority of people, but I never see men being held to that expectation. ---

Pretty much. The point is for everyone to list whatever stereotypical trait they have, so questioning the stereotype goes against the entire point of the thread. It’s a rather shallow TikTok type of thing. If you are putting any actual thought into it you are probably doing it wrong. Google “tell me without telling me meme” if you want more details. But you could say the same about pretty much everything, couldn’t you: There are women who don’t do X, and/or people who do X but aren’t women, no matter what X is? I don’t know whether that makes this a threadshit, and if so, if this is a thread that ought to be shat. When I read the OP last night soon after it was posted, I thought, “Uh oh, is that really a good idea? Could be harmless fun, I suppose, but could too easily turn into a cavalcade of sexist stereotypes.” ---
