I don’t think I’ll ever play an escape room game again. It was fun, it was nice being with my friends, but I was terrible at it, and I felt like I was unhelpful. In general, I enjoyed the experience, but I don’t think I’ll do it again. ---

Times Square on New Year’s Eve. You can’t get anywhere near the place if you don’t spend all day there. You get to the 34th street train station a few hours before midnight, the police will tell you to walk a mile up 8th Avenue and you’d be able to go down that way toward the ball-drop, but after doing so in single-digit weather, it turns out you can’t get through there either, and you’re crushed with a zillion other people who think that they will eventually be allowed in, until by the time you realize you’ve utterly wasted your night, midnight has passed. So not worth the bother. ---

Camping, period. Way too much work, felt dirty the whole time, flies and/or mosquitoes everywhere, uncomfortable sleeping accommodation. Throw in the uncertainty of the weather and I just don’t see the appeal. Camping is really a stupid thing to do if there is a hotel within 30 miles or so. mmm ---

I love camping. Attending the Boston Esplanade July 4th concert. It’s a long wait for music you can barely hear, and nice fireworks show, and a ridiculously long time trying to get to the T in a huge crowd. ---

There’s a spot on the hill there where you can see the fireworks and almost hear them. Kind of a nice balance of festive and mellow. Saw a little of the concert on a cell phone, but Rita Moreno can still bring it.
