Holly Hunter as Grace Hanadarko in **Saving Grace**. Even as a beat-up drunken slutty person she’s smoking hot. That and Holly Hunter’s voice with that lispy sound or whatever it is is just sonic candy. ---

Put me down as another vote for Christine Cagney of “Cagney & Lacey”. I would’ve voted for Sgt. Dee Dee McCall of [Hunter](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086734/) if she’d have lived up to her nickname, “The Brass Cupcake.” She always seemed on the verge of being abducted on very show I saw. ---

Mary on In Plain Sight. Federal marshalls are a kind of police, I think. She’s one of the most entertaining lead women characters in TV shows I’ve seen recently. I also liked Annie on the Life on Mars American version. She had a tough time working her way to that spot but she did it… ---
