IIRC, the spirit of the rule was to prevent a thread from deteriorating to the old…

“Fuck Off!”  
“No You Fuck Off!”  
“Fuck You!”  
“No Fuck You!”  
“Go Fuck Yourself!”  
“No, You Go Fuck Yourself”

…repeat until someone gets the last post in.

Just to clarify, the rule does not restrict swearing nor does it prevent you from using cunt, motherfucker, etc… It only pertains to personal insults directed at other posters.

Nope. The point of the Pit is to air out your beef with someone or something.
