You will see that Lamar’s un-cited allegation was that “_ **they** were attacking another country_”. “They” refer specifically to the specific killed marines, not to the United States – and even if it was referring to the US, it would still be wrong, because the US **is** not attacking another country. The US did attack another country some time back, but if that’s what Lamar had meant I’m sure he would have written something like: _they were killed because they had attacked another country_. In any case I’m sure you very well know that I wasn’t expecting cites, but making the point that calls for cite on SDMB sometimes are used in an obstructing and completely partial way, not meant to further debate – but merely as a weapon to silence people one disagrees with. > [@Tv time](#): > > Word games and requests for cites won’t change that.
